Wellpath is a private, non-profit regional center that offers comprehensive and integrated mental health services to children, adolescents, parents and families.
What began in 1951 as a local program serving fewer than 100 children per year has now grown into a regional provider offering comprehensive and integrated services. As an organization, we have evolved to address the ever-changing needs of families in an always dynamic community.
In April 2008, Child Guidance Clinic of Greater Waterbury began operating under the corporate name of Wellpath, Inc. Along with this name change, we launched a new brand that reflects not only those that we serve but how and why we do so: Wellpath Behavioral Health for Children and Families –
New hope through treatment and support. Equipped with an $11,000,000 annual budget,
200 staff and nine sites, our programs now provide safety, health and hope to more than
9,000 children and family members throughout a 42-town region in northwestern Connecticut.
The Wellpath brand will help us to effectively build recognition for our continuum of treatment and support programs – from 24-hour emergency mobile crisis intervention to specialized child abuse treatment, victim recovery and support services, group homes for traumatized children, outpatient psychotherapy and psychiatric treatment, home-based psychotherapy, family support and early intervention. We appreciate your ongoing partnership and your help in bringing a new identity and new hope to our community.

Our Approach to Caring
When children are having behavioral and emotional problems, these problems affect the whole family. Wellpath advocates that behavioral health treatment for children is most effective when parents and caregivers participate and there is collaboration with teachers and pediatricians. Our treatment and support includes and involves all family members to understand the problems and determine solutions that work for everyone. Therapy is more effective when the clinician, doctor, nurse, teacher, child and family are working collectively. We can be successful in reaching our goal of keeping more children and families safe, healthy and happy together.
Wellpath provides accessibility to its services through convenient locations and appointment times, through community outreach and delivery of out-of-office services, and through linguistic and cultural competencies among its clinical and support staff.
